President Brian Rosenberg joked at the Power Beard shaving event that after spending most of his life studying Victorians, he finally looks like one. Rosenberg agreed to shave his beard into a mustache connected to mutton chops on Tuesday as part of a student fundraiser. The fundraiser, which netted around $6,000 several weeks ago, was held to help send a group of Macalester students to the Power Shift conference on climate change in Washington, D.C., last weekend.
The students at the conference attended workshops, lobbied Congress for positive climate change action and networked with other young environmental activists from around the country.
“I learned a lot,” said Power Shift attendee Erin Hocking ’11. “It was fun and informative.
