Franken to visit Macalester

By

Can it really be?
Al Franken, the politically minded comedian-turned-author-turned-radio host-turned-potential 2008 Senate candidate with whom The Mac Weekly is not on the best of terms, will visit campus this Sunday for an election rally sponsored by Mac Dems.

Franken will be joined by Representative Betty McCollum (DFL-St. Paul), Secretary of State candidate Mark Ritchie, State Auditor candidate and Macalester alumna Rebecca Otto, and Ramsey County Sheriff candidate Bill “Chief” Finney.

When The Mac Weekly sat down with Franken in Minneapolis last winter, the published interview, which challenged Franken’s version of facts surrounding campaign contributions and the scandal surrounding lobbyist Jack Abramoff, proliferated throughout the right-wing blogosphere.

The rally will start at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the Hill Ballroom in Kagin Commons.
