Swens N’ Dobs// THIS IS THE END

Dear dedicated readers,
We would like to thank you for flipping to our humble corner of The Mac Weekly each Friday to hear our thoughts on the cinematic arts. The time has come for the two of us to graduate, to move on to grander adventures in the wide world. We are grateful for your readership, and can only hope that you will continue to watch films with the same fervor and fascination that has motivated us to write this column. This week we highlight some of the movies we look forward to watching this summer. We toast your future film-going endeavors!
Love and popcorn,
Swens n’ Dobs

Swenson:
The Avengers: Age of Ultron– By far the thing that I am most excited for this summer. I will admit to being a comic book movie nerd (though I have never had any interest in the comics themselves) and Marvel’s Avengers is the quintessential comic book movie. I am also excited to see how Ant-Man and Fantastic Four end up.
Mad Max: Fury Road- This movie looks very cool. While I am not sure exactly how important the plot will be to the film, I would see it simply for the visuals.
Me and Earl and the Dying Girl– This is actually a movie that I just saw the trailer for and it looks pretty good. It’s definitely a part of the indie summer movie genre and will most likely not be playing everywhere, but it has a pretty great cast (Connie Britton and Nick Offerman).
Inside Out– I am an avid Pixar fan and so anything that they release (besides Cars) is something that I am guaranteed to go see. I have no doubt that this will be a great movie.
Minions– Oh, I love the Minions.
Trainwreck– I really don’t have much knowledge of Amy Schumer’s work, but from the trailer, this film looks like it should be full of laughs. And LeBron James makes a pretty amusing cameo!

Dobscha:
Jurassic World– The trailer looks cheesy, but I sure love dinosaurs, Chris Pratt and the original Jurassic Park. Definitely looking forward to this one.
Hot Pursuit– Reese Witherspoon plays a kooky cop tasked with protecting Sofia Vergara. It has one of those trailers that would make my Mom laugh really hard and then she would say “God, that looks terrible…” But if we’re being perfectly honest, it’s probably pretty funny. I’m hopeful.
Paper Towns– They keep making movies out of my least favorite John Green novels! I have a feeling I’ll end up seeing this one eventually. It looks like an adequate feel-good tearjerker (as all John Green stories are).
Antman– A superhero movie with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly? Count me in!
Fantastic Four– A superhero movie with Miles Teller? Count me in! (I’m a broken record when it comes to summer blockbusters)

Go forth and enjoy the cinema! We wish you a very happy summer.
