Macalester’s Board of Trustees, a 28-member board in charge of a variety of responsibilities including hiring and overseeing the President, approving major funding allocations and developing goals for the college, held its annual retreat in New York this January to discuss the future of the college and approve tenure recommendations.
This year, five nominations for tenure positions were approved. They include Paul Fischer in Chemistry, Mark Mazullo, a scholar of Soviet classical composers in the Music Department, William Moseley in Geography, Dianna Shandy, who has studied forced migration in Africa in Anthropology, and Elizabeth Shoop in Mathematics and Computer Science.
