By Marissa Warden

The Minnesota Campus Energy Challenge (MCEC) is a month of energy awareness campaigns starting Feb. 1. Macalester will compete in an energy challenge with nine other campuses throughout Minnesota during the month of February. The school that can reduce its electrical and heating use by the greatest percentage wins.

The campaign will also hold a National Teach-In on Feb. 4, which will include a screening of “Solutions for the First 100 Days.”

The goals of the MCEC are to promote youth involvement in an effort to address climate change, raise awareness and encourage networking and interaction between students and faculty across campuses to work towards universal policy changes.
