Charmaine Runes ’15, Cara Moriwaki ’14, Erin Shulz ’14, Raynise Cange ’14 and Christian Smith ’15 pose with signs in solidarity with the 27 Hour Stand For Freedom, a movement that aims to raise awareness of sex trafficking. Macalester’s Stand started at 9:00 p.m. on the Old Main lawn on Sunday, March 31 and lasted until midnight on Tuesday, April 2. The demonstration comes after Minnesota State Senator Sandy Pappas and State Rep. Susan Allen introduced the Safe Harbor for Sexually Exploited Youth Law in state legislature last month.
