Peyton Starks ’25 now has the second-most points in Macalester College women’s basketball history with 1,633. Starks eclipsed Afton Hanson ’04, who formerly held the spot with 1,620 points, in the game against Concordia College (Minn.) on Feb. 19. She claimed the spot with an off-the-dribble long two-pointer, a shot that has made her the most potent scorer in the MIAC throughout her career.
Starks now sits behind only Jane Ruliffson ’92, who has 1,762 points. She has made MIAC history this year by leading the conference in scoring for three straight seasons, a feat no other player has accomplished since the MIAC’s first season of complete statistics in 1999-2000.
