At the MCSG legislative body meeting on Tuesday, October 11, the executives discussed the talking points from the last Executive Board meeting. Members brought up reflections on the Board of Trustees and intramurals.
Next, Joan Maze brought up Bon Appétit’s new Express Menu for student orgs. It’s less expensive, but students have to pick up the food themselves.
Lectures Coordination Board announced Derreck Kayongo will be coming on Thursday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m. He currently serves as the CEO of the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, was recognized as a CNN Hero in 2011 and is the founder of the Global Soap Project.
Three new campus committee representatives were approved for the Student Employment Advisory Committee and the Library and Media Services Committee. The first received three applications, out of which Zachary Skluzacek and Madrigal von Muchow were chosen. The second received only one application from Sa In (Shine) Chin.
The Student Organizations Committee (SOC) presented two new orgs. Dare to Dream’s charter passed. Mac GOP presented its charter, which will be voted upon at the next meeting.
