How about that weather though?

It’s a rainy week ahead, my friends, so pull out the galoshes and have your umbrellas at the ready. Today alone we’ve got a 90% chance of rain, and things stay wet as the week goes on. Tuesday and Wednesday have a chance of rain at 50%, with a possible total of over an inch of rain.

The rest of the week will feature cloudy skies, ranging from partly and mostly cloudy, all the way to overcast from Saturday to Monday.

Missing the sun? Hold on out until Thursday and you’ll finally got those clear skies you’ve been craving.

Tempearture-wise, this week stays mainly in the upper 50s, dipping down to the high 40s on Wednesday and Thursday. But that’s just the forecasted highs. Lows this week slip into the 30s, which means you may need to break out the hats and scarves, pom poms, cableknit and all.

Werewolves will abound Tuesday night with the advent of the full moon. Keep your cats indoors and have your silver at the ready. Bullets are ideal but forks can work in a pinch. From there we switch to the waning phase, as the moon becomes slowly less visible.

Throwback fact: Today in 1899 it was 82° F. That sounds pretty nice, especially compared to today’s record low of 17° F way back in 1936. Today’s pretty average in comparison. We should strive for better. Keep that in mind.

Don’t expect any snow for awhile, unless you built a time machine and you’re planning on traveling back to October 29, 1905 when St. Paul got 5.5 inches of snow. An interesting choice, but we here at the Meteorology Department of the Mac Weekly do not judge.

Some advice for the coming week: don’t go swimming in the river. The Mississippi River is never especially clean, and now that it’s getting cold, the water’s getting pretty cold too (mid 50s). At this temperature, it would take only 10-15 minutes to lose dexterity, 1-2 hours to lose consciousness, and up to 6 hours to before that pleasant little dip becomes fatal.
