On October 12 the Macalester Football Program will be taking on Carleton College with the winner taking the Book of Knowledge Trophy. This will NOT be the only battle they will be taking on Saturday. Macalester Football will be hosting their first annual Randy Shaver Tackle Cancer Foundation and Be the Match Game.
The Randy Shaver Tackle Cancer Foundation is established by Kare 11’s Randy Shaver and has spread across the state as a way from High School Football teams, and now College Football teams to help fight against cancer. Last year Tackle Cancer raised over $120,00 for Minnesota’s Cancer Community.
Be the Match is an organization that is working to build the bone marrow donor bank that will connect patients with their donor match for a life-saving marrow transplant.
This game will be an opportunity for Macalester College to show its support for the families that are so bravely taking on this difficult disease. All proceeds will go to the Randy Shaver Tackle Cancer Foundation. We’re asking for the help of the Macalester Community to help make this day one of great success and great progress towards tackling cancer!
