Miles played football throughout high school and said he wasn’t ready to “hang up the pads just yet,” when asked about deciding to play in college. It also didn’t hurt to have an “open and inviting” team.
Although football is a big part of Miles’s life, it isn’t the only talent he has. With a little bit of encouragement from his sister, Miles began to perform slam poetry during his sophomore year at Mustang High School.
To honor two loved ones he lost to cancer, Miles wrote a poem titled “Cancer” which gained traction through the American Cancer Society. Miles was asked to travel and perform his poem at events in Oklahoma, Portland, Colorado and Dallas. Miles has also performed another poem, “Andrea,” here at the Mall of America. Needless to say, you can expect to find him on the nearest Mac slam stage.
