MINN 101: Fall in love with October

The leaves have turned, the air is crisp and – finally – it’s sweater weather! Fall is a wondrous time to be out and about in Minnesota, so put some socks under your Birkenstocks and indulge in a little apple picking, pumpkin patching and trick-o-treating.

As a kid, there was nothing I loved more about autumn than visiting pumpkin patches and apple orchards. Seriously. Minnesota is an amazing place for apples. The University of Minnesota invents new species all the time (though in my humble opinion, none will top the Honeycrisp). There’s even a website for it (in case you don’t believe me: http://www.apples.umn.edu/). My favorite orchard destinations are Afton Apple and McDougall’s Apple Orchard (try the homemade peanut butter with your hand-picked apples!). Go on your own or with Program Board this Saturday – you won’t regret it!

Now as an adult (sorta), there are even more things to love about fall in Minnesota. Have a bonfire, attend a Macalester football game or check out a local brewery for their Oktoberfest specials. Surly and Summit Breweries both have specials this autumn.

If you’re into scary stuff, Minnesota has plenty of to offer. Each autumn, the amusement park Valley Fair in Shakopee turns into Valley Scare, fulfilling all your nightmare-inducing needs. If you’re looking for horror closer to home, check out the Haunted Basement at the Soap Factory or the annual Zombie Pub Crawl. You’d be a braver soul than I.

Last, but certainly not least, take this warning to heart: winter is coming, people! Minnesotans across the state are looking wistfully out their windows, raking up leaves, feeling the sun and wearing their favorite pair of shorts for the last time. Like the turning leaves, enjoy the Minnesota fall while it lasts. 🙂

There is also one additional technique to increase traffic in support of your webpage that is link exchange, therefore you also try it

I’m impressed, I have to admit. Seldom do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and engaging, and without a doubt, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The issue is something that too few people are speaking intelligently about. Now i’m very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something regarding this.
