Swens N’ Dobs // Spring Breakers

Here are a few films we enjoyed over Spring Break. These could be useful tools of procrastination in this final stretch of the semester!

Dobscha:

Virunga:

This Oscar nominated documentary explores the dangerous conflict taking place in Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The film is packed with information, delving into Congolese history, current events and corporate/conservationist tensions. Adorable gorillas, impressive undercover camera work and gorgeous landscape cinematography keep the movie engaging throughout. Virunga is available on Netflix Instant.

Bruce Almighty:

I finally got around to seeing this slapstick classic. Lighthearted and over-the-top, many instances made me wonder how much was scripted and how many moments of weirdness simply slipped out of Jim Carrey by accident. The best scene takes place when Jim Carrey uses his God powers to make his rival Steve Carell speak gibberish on live TV. The two comedians pull hilarious faces and noises for a long stretch of time—I can’t think of any two actors more perfect for this. Bruce Almighty isn’t anything special or complex, but if you like Jim Carrey and nostalgia, it is worth a watch on a rainy day. Bruce Almighty is also available on Netflix Instant.

Swenson:

Empire Season Finale:
Over Spring Break I ended up watching the Empire season finale with my aunt and uncle. I had never seen an episode of Empire, although I knew that it had become quite popular. What I witnessed was nothing short of pure and utter chaos. And when I say chaos, I mean it in the best possible way. The finale was full of “oh shit” moments and made me want to go back and watch the rest of the season.

Other than that, there is not much to report on. I have started watching the TV show Damages, which is amazing and I suggest everyone watch it. It is available on Netflix Instant.

I believe that avoiding ready-made foods would be the first step so that you can lose weight. They will often taste very good, but refined foods possess very little vitamins and minerals, making you consume more in order to have enough power to get throughout the day. Should you be constantly consuming these foods, switching to cereals and other complex carbohydrates will assist you to have more strength while ingesting less. Interesting blog post.

I have been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be much more useful than ever before.
